Accidents caused by distracted driving have been on the rise in recent years, due to people using cell phones or texting while they drive. Thousands of people are killed and hundreds of thousands of people are injured every year in distracted driving accidents, and even though many states (including Illinois) have made using a cell phone while driving illegal, the rate of distracted driving accidents has not abated.
