According to Chicago police, a 24-year-old man is charged with failing to report a fatal accident in November. The Logan Square man allegedly failed to report a fatal hit-and-run crash. The Chicago Tribune reported a story on this reckless driver.
The 24-year-old driver, Alexander Villa, of the 2900 block of West Altgeld Street, has been identified as the driver in a crash that killed another driver and wounded a passenger, according to police. Villa was ”positively identified as the driver” in the crash that killed the driver and wounded the driver's 21-year-old brother.
Cook County court records show that a warrant for Villa's arrest was issued on December 18. Some records listed Villa to be 25 years old.
The victims in the crash were Ivan Miranda, 24, who was killed, and his younger brother. On November 24, Miranda and his younger brother were driving to go pick up their brother when a vehicle hit theirs on West Division Street at around 5:30 in the morning.
Villa turned himself in later with his attorney there to accompany him, police said.
