New Divorce Trends

Divorce Coaches

Divorce can be overwhelming, making divorce coaches invaluable resources. A divorce coach can serve as a counselor and help a couple get through the difficulties of divorce. They can also provide valuable advice regarding parenting or finances.

Divorce Apps

There are a variety of divorce apps that can make it easier for divorced parents to manage their children’s schedules. For example, two houses can ensure that parents don’t forget a softball game, a trip to the dentist, or school concert.

Nesting

Nesting is designed to make divorce less stressful on children. It involves children remaining in their family home while their mother and father rotate in and out. With this type of custody agreement, children do not have to go back and forth to their mother and father’s separate homes. While nesting may help children cope with a divorce, it can make life more challenging for the parents, making it wise to only choose this method for a short period of time.

Even Custody Splits

Even custody splits are also increasing in popularity. In this arrangement, children change homes every other week. This way, they are able to spend equal time with their mother and father. If this type of arrangement is chosen, divorced couples should be okay with seeing one another often.

Continuing to Live or Work Together

Some couples do not make good spouses but work and live well together. If this is the case, they can decide to get divorced but continue to live and/or manage a business together.

It is important to understand that this arrangement will only be successful if both spouses are in complete agreement with one another. Additionally, this arrangement may confuse children, especially if one of their parents enters the dating world.

Soft Landing

A soft landing involves slowly easing into divorce rather than suddenly splitting. In a soft landing arrangement, divorced parents will live near one another and spend vacations and holidays together. This may be a good option for divorced families with young children.
