In 2019, one million American women got a divorce and research shows that many of these women were the ones who initiated the divorce. Some women work outside the home and are also primarily responsible for household and family-related duties. Researchers found that in such cases, women are not enjoying the benefits of a partnership that marriage often brings, making women more inclined to be the first to file for divorce.
